Sophie Le Tan disappeared on the morning of September 7, when she went to visit an apartment in Schiltigheim, near Strasbourg. It has not been found, despite the excavations of investigators and several "battered citizens" in the region. Already convicted in particular for rape, Jean-Marc Reiser had posted the real estate announcement to which the young woman had replied. He was arrested a few days after the disappearance, thanks to telephone data. Traces of Sophie Le Tan's blood, which were clearly attempted to erase, were also found on the floor of her apartment. An element confirmed a few days ago by new expertise.

During his last hearing at the end of March, Jean-Marc Reiser, 58 years old, had denied his involvement in the disappearance of Sophie Le-Tan. However, he acknowledged having met the young woman at the Faculty of Strasbourg. She was, according to her words, wounded in the hand, and he would have offered to treat her. Which would explain that his DNA was found in his apartment, but also on one of his trousers and on a jacket.
