Cédric de Pierrepont, one of the two members of the commandos who died on the night of Thursday to Friday during the liberation of four hostages in Burkina Faso, had ties to Quillan. This second master, combat swimmer and member of the Hubert commando has been living for nearly two years with Florence Charton, an orthodontist whose grandmother Anne-Marie, 75 years old, is domiciled in the city of Trois pins.

"He often came to Quillan. He found the area magnificent, "says the septuagenary. "He loved the tranquility, the closeness of nature," adds Pascal Charton, his father-in-law, former merchant marine, domiciled in La Seyne-sur-Mer (var), near Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer where the Hubert commando is based.

Cédric de Pierrepont's last stay in Quillan dates back to mid-March before he left on a mission to Mali until the heroic operation carried out this week on Burkinabé soil, serving France and its nationals.

"He was a charming and affectionate boy. It was so sweet, "cried the grandmother, warned of the tragic fate of her granddaughter's Companion on Friday, in the early afternoon. "I mourn him as if he were my son. He was humble. He was a whole man, a good boy. I would have been proud that he was the father of my grandchildren, "adds Pascal Charton.

Cédric de Pierrepont also had ties in the region where his father had established himself. He often visited his paternal grandmother who is currently housed in a nursing home in Torreilles. This winter, the couple had gone skiing in Font-Romeu.

Pacsés for two months, they lived temporarily in the home of the Charton in La Seyne-sur-Mer, while their future housing was under construction.

Thursday evening, a first tribute was given to Quillan by "all the buddies" of the Charton family at the terminus, near the station, where his relatives had their habits.

It is with great emotion that should, therefore, be followed since Quillan the ceremony scheduled Tuesday in the Invalides in tribute to the two officers submariners Cédric de Pierrepont and Alain bertoncello, who died during this special operation.

The Charton family will then go to Lorient, where the mother of Cédric de Pierrepont is established, for the funeral of this hero, who, with his companion of arms, "gave his life to liberate others", as recalled by Emmanuel Macron, President of the Republic, during the announcement of these deaths and the release of the four hostages on Friday.
